Going for a Substantial Play to Conceive Greater Scale Across the Domain of Physical AI

SiMa.ai, a pioneer in Physical AI solutions, has officially announced the launch of three new products, each one geared towards accelerating the implementation of Physical AI at scale.

According to certain platform, these products include next-generation Physical AI silicon i.e. MLSoC Modalix™, System-on-Module (SoM) and devkit to accelerate production, as well as LLiMa™, which happens to be a software framework designed to deploy high-performance LLM and GenAI models on Modalix for Physical AI applications.

Talk about the stated new products on a slightly deeper level, we begin from Modalix™. Modalix is essentially a second-generation Machine Learning System on a Chip (MLSoC™) focused on delivering industry-leading performance and accuracy without sacrificing power.

It further arrives on the scene bearing an ability to support LLMs, transformers, CNNs, and GenAI workloads under 10 watts. In case that wasn’t enough, the solution also leverages a flexible, Arm-based architecture with a native GenAI stack to seamlessly facilitate real-time perception, decision-making, and natural language interaction.

Designed to support all essential interfaces like camera, Ethernet, PCIe, and more, this particular technology can scale physical AI, at launch, across robotics, automotive, industrial automation, aerospace and defense, smart vision and retail, and medical applications.

Another detail worth a mention here relates to how SiMa.ai also roped in Synopsys’ industry-leading AI-powered EDA suite, broad IP portfolio, and architecture design and emulation solutions to accelerate development and achieve bug-free A0 silicon, opening the gates for faster, more confident production.

“The development of Physical AI applications requires validated, purpose-built silicon and software that is only possible using the most advanced design solutions,” said Ravi Subramanian, Chief Product Management Officer at Synopsys. “Achieving a successful first tapeout of MLSoC Modalix illustrates the mission-critical role of Synopsys AI-powered design and IP to achieve complex SoC requirements. Together, Synopsys and SiMa.ai are enabling customers to bring their bleeding-edge AI innovations to market faster and with confidence.”

Next up, we must expand upon SiMa.ai’s SoM, which is pin-and form-factor compatible with leading GPU SoM. The stated technology features seamless drop-in replacement for rapid integration, while simultaneously banking upon compact and power-efficient mechanism, with integrated MIPI, memory, and essential I/O needed to scale Physical AI.

Complementing that would be SoM’s built-in support for leading ML frameworks, SiMa.ai’s Paletteâ„¢ software, and a complete hardware package inclusive of integrated cooling, MIPI camera compatibility, and SSD.

“This Enclustra-SiMa.ai SoM is more than just a module – it’s a powerful, ready-to-deploy physical AI platform,” said Philipp Baechtold, CEO of Enclustra. “Together with SiMa.ai, we’ve created a plug-and-play development kit that enables fast, efficient deployment of advanced AI applications across industries like robotics, smart vision, and healthcare.”

The third innovation in line would be LLiMa, a unified on-device framework for running LLMs, LMMs, and VLMs on Modalixâ„¢ with zero cloud dependency. The stated solution, right from the get-go, makes it possible for you to access seamless open-source or custom LLM import, a curated model zoo, and automated quantization/compilation.

Such a setup, like you can guess, really goes the distance to optimize open-source or SiMa-precompiled models into Modalix-ready binaries. Not just that, it also enables agent-2-agent systems, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), all fully on-device for Physical AI.

Among other things, it ought to be acknowledged that Modalixâ„¢ SoM and DevKit are available now, with commercial-grade 1K units pricing starting at $349 for the 8GB SoM and $599 for the 32GB SoM. The Devkit alone is priced at $1,499.

“The era of Physical AI is here! With Modalixâ„¢ now in production, we’re accelerating its global adoption,” said Krishna Rangasayee, founder and CEO of SiMa.ai. “Demand for our Modalix SoM is strong, and we’re excited to launch it worldwide. We’re also introducing LLiMa to simplify LLM deployment on Modalix, making it easier than ever to bring GenAI to Physical AI systems.”
