Combining Performance with Resilience to Cultivate a Versatile Electronics Take

Getac Technology Corporation, a leading provider of rugged computing and mobile video solutions, has officially announced the launch of its next generation B360 and B360 Pro fully rugged laptops.

According to certain reports, the laptops in question arrive bearing an ability to help professionals across industries like public safety, utilities and defense, access two powerful, yet versatile solutions, all for navigating more effectively through the daily challenges they face

These next generation B360 and B360 Pro combine fully rugged build quality with a host of innovative new technology upgrades. The stated assortment of technology upgrades include latest Intel® CoreTM Ultra Series 2 processors and Intel® AI Boost technology, each one making it possible for users to leverage on-device Edge AI and seamlessly execute tasks.

In fact; during a recent text-to-report evaluation test conducted with Llama 3.1 8B, AI applications running on the B360 were able to turn extensive texts into full reports in a matter of seconds. Such a performance, like you can guess, indicates significant operational advantages over cloud AI, particularly in scenarios requiring real-time processing, high levels of data privacy and security, offline capability, and cost efficiency.

Anyway, moving on, Getac’s next generation B360 and B360 Pro laptops also put on display a wide range of versatile new I/O options, including up to two ThunderboltTM ports for incredibly fast data transfer.

Complementing that would be the presence of LifeSupport hot-swappable battery technology, which can boost productivity to a significant degree. This it does by minimizing the need to recharge the devices mid-shift.

Then, there is a NVIDIA Quadro RTX A500 4GB discrete graphics controller, capable of improving visuals without impacting processing performance.

Next up, the new laptops feature an optional media bay that includes a third SSD (for up to 6TB storage capacity in total), third battery, DVD drive or Blu-Ray drive as required.

Having WiFi 7 technology in place also enables data speeds up to five times faster than WiFi 6, as well as up to 60% lower latency.

“As the popularity of open-source and Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) language models continues to grow at a rapid pace, we have collaborated with industry customers to develop innovative vertical market AI applications that enable them to take full advantage of the operational benefits on offer. These advancements will drive demand for rugged Edge AI devices like the next generation B360 and B360 Pro, and accelerate AI adoption,” said James Hwang, President of Getac Technology Corporation.

Another detail worth a mention here is rooted in the fact that both B360 and B360 Pro are available in a range of industry-specific configurations and can be further tailored with bespoke customization options* spanning hardware, software, accessories and service.

Joining that would be the technology’s bid to offer optimal situational awareness for public safety professionals. You see, public safety professionals such as police patrol units, can rely on their Getac rugged devices for secure, fast data access, and real-time intelligence updates while in the field.

For instance, these users can customize their next generation B360 devices with a range of specific software, hardware, accessory and service options* to fully optimize their situational awareness capabilities. To expand upon that, you can specify software options like Getac Geolocation for more accurate location information.

Not just that, by installing new optional device authentication layers, including password, RFID reader and a fingerprint reader help, the feature ensures seamless device access, while simultaneously maintaining data security at all times.

Hold on, we still have a few bits left to unpack, considering we haven’t yet touched upon how the next generation B360 is understood to be compatible with mobile GIS, boasting optimal utility for surveying and mapping tasks in remote locations and/or adverse weather conditions. We get to say because of the device’s MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G, and IP66 certifications, along with 6ft drop resistance.

There is also Getac Virtual GPS Utility software available to offer users a fast and reliable way of managing up to five GPS applications at the same time. However, if that much accuracy is still not enough, the next generation B360 can be further equipped with an optional high accuracy GPS module and antenna
