Opus IVS™, the leader in intelligent vehicle support solutions, has officially announced the launch of DriveSafe2, which happens to be the company’s next-generation diagnostic tool created to enhance performance for collision repair professionals and multi-shop operators (MSOs).
According to certain reports, the stated tool builds upon Opus’ already-successful DriveSafe solution, and it does that through significant enhancements in speed, functionality, and user control. More on the same would reveal how it is powered by Intel processors, as well as how it features a high-resolution 10″ or 13″ Gorilla Glass touchscreen, optional wireless VCI, built-in CarDAQ J2534 VCI, and ultra-fast 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity.
DriveSafe2 even does good on the durability aspect, considering it is safely packed in an industrial-strength Opus IVS enclosure. From there, the technology effectively offers configurations from 512GB to 2TB of internal storage, extended battery life, and an optional docking station for flexible shop use.
Talk about the whole value proposition on a slightly deeper level, we begin from the solution’s refined UI that builds on the familiar DriveSafe experience so to provide an enhanced workflow and real-time feedback. It also has an on-screen diagnostic tool in AiVS Scan, which is complemented by IVS True OE Scans to help users request authentic OEM scans with OE software and detailed reports, thus ensuring utmost precision in every single diagnostic.
Next up, we have a QuickADAS feature making it possible for users to facilitate on-screen ADAS calibrations. Alongside that, there is even available an ADAS MAP functionality to effectively identify and manage calibrations directly with CCC integration, and therefore, help DriveSafe2 present itself as an invaluable tool for ADAS management in collision space.
“We’re excited to introduce DriveSafe2 as the next step forward in collision diagnostics, offering collision professionals the flexibility, power, and precision they need to stay ahead,” said Brian Herron, CEO of Opus IVS. “DriveSafe2 has been in development for over two years and combines both OEM and aftermarket diagnostics in a single tool, making it the industry’s most comprehensive solution for MSOs and collision repair shops. This tool is built to evolve with the needs of the market and to be a long-term asset for our customers.”
Another detail worth a mention here is rooted in DriveSafe2’s knowhow when it comes to transitioning smoothly between OEM and aftermarket scans within a single device. This knowhow, on its part, stems from a DrivePro Scan Tool Hub, which can you can bank upon to access tools like Auto Enginuity and Autologic. The solution’s model’s FarSight Mode also comes with pre-installed OEM software, such as Toyota GTS+, GM TLC, Jaguar Land Rover, and others, to let users apply their own OE licenses. This particular integration markedly consolidates all diagnostic capabilities into one tool to eliminate the need for multiple devices and greatly simplify the overall workflow.
Hold on, we are not done yet. You see, we still haven’t touched on DriveSafe2’s bid to introduce My CarDAQ Mode, a fully managed virtual machine (VM) environment that allows technicians to install more applications beyond diagnostics, including software for Estimatics, HR, payroll, and more. Such a facility, like you can guess, helps the technology provide secure and reliable operation with easy backup and restore capabilities, marking a first in diagnostic tools by combining both business and diagnostic functionalities.
To make the proposition even better, Opus plans on fine-tuning the solution further through updates that will be based on customer feedback.
Founded in 2018, Opus’ rise up the ranks is orchestrated on the back of its ability to support independent automotive shops in repairing the most complex vehicles. The company’s approach presently involves a blend of diagnostic tools, programming, and live repair guidance from OE brand-specific master technicians. Opus’ excellence in what does can also be understood once you consider it has, thus far, facilitated more than 50,000 workshops worldwide
