iRobot Corp, a leader in consumer robots, has officially announced the launch of its most advanced robot till date, named Roomba Combo® 10 Max Robot + AutoWash™ Dock. According to certain reports, the 2-in-1 Roomba Combo 10 Max leverages iRobot’s first multifunction AutoWash Dock and added intelligence to powerfully vacuum and mop multiple floor types. Furthermore, it can automatically refill and recharge the underlying robotic technology, while simultaneously boasting the ability to wash and dry its mopping pad, as well as empty all the debris to complete its self-clean drill. Such a mechanism, like can guess, frees up consumers from the burden of having to maintain their device. Anyway, powered by iRobot OS, the Roomba Combo 10 Max also delivers at your disposal a specialized Enhanced Dirt Detect™ Technology, which allows it to recognize large concentrations of dirt and debris up to 8x more frequently. On top of that, the overarching system is even set to become the first robot floor cleaner ever under iRobot umbrella to be compliant with the Apple Home ecosystem. Talk about the whole value proposition on a slightly deeper, we begin from the presence of iRobot’s AutoWash Dock technology. To give you some gist, the stated technology is actually crafted with premium antimicrobial materials. This, along with other ancillary features, will allow the system to automatically clean the dock after every pad wash so to proactively prevent dirt and debris build-up. Markedly enough, customers retain the option to still run a manual self-clean cycle.
Complimenting the same is how they are reminded through the iRobot Home app whenever deeper cleaning or standard maintenance is needed. In essence, AutoWash Dock handles dirt and debris emptying for up to 60 days and holds up to 7 days of water supply to wash the robot’s mopping pad. Next up, we must shed some light upon the device’s 4-Stage Cleaning System, which features an Edge-Sweeping Brush for thorough corner cleaning, Dual Rubber Brushes for adjusting to different floor types and avoiding pet hair tangles, 100% stronger Power-Lifting Suction for deep-clean mopping. There is also a SmartScrub functionality that lets you mop back and forth with consistent pressure and 2x deeper scrubbing so to eliminate stubborn messes like coffee and grime.
Moving on to Roomba Combo 10 Max’s intelligence, it is reflected in how the machine can create a complete smart map of the home 7x faster, as well as automatically label each room type so that customers can quickly create routines for their robot to clean wherever they want. Another detail worth a mention here is rooted in the robot’s Dirt Detective function. You see, this function is what enables the consumer to analyze past cleaning information before predicting the cleanliness of each room and unlocking intelligence for prioritization cleaning settings. The stated function also informs the device on when to wash the mop pad. Markedly enough, you can further pair your robot with Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant-enabled devices to tell the same where to clean using only their voice. Alongside that, you can even come expecting advanced navigation and object detection capabilities, capabilities that will empower the robot to move under and around the furniture without running into obstacles like stairs, cords, socks, shoes and more.
We referred to how Roomba Combo 10 Max will be compliant with Apple Home ecosystem, but what we didn’t was that it will also become Matter-enabled in Q4 2024. This makes for a significant detail, considering Matter is designed to help smart home devices take up a more secure, reliable and seamless form. In essence, the feature in question will allow communication across smart home devices, mobile app and cloud services. Rounding up highlights would be iRobot’s pledge to use the highest standards of data encryption and keep customer data secure at all times.
